Sometimes your paint gets so damaged that it actually gouges out a small area that requires refilling. For repairs that are smaller than actual body work, but bigger than scuffs, we recommend ISOPON Chip & Stone Filler. It’s extremely fast and easy to apply, so here’s how you do it:
The first step is to clean away any dirt, debris, oil or loose chips of paint from the affected area. These loose debris can prevent the filler from adhering properly or cause an uneven finish after application. If the area is so dirty that you have to use soap and water, make sure you wash away all the soap, and then allow the area to thoroughly dry before proceeding to the next step.
With the area cleaned properly, you’re ready to apply the filler. Open the tube, pierce the protective foil, and then squeeze a small amount of filler into the affected area. You can make it as deep as 1mm, and you should replace the cap between uses so the filler doesn’t dry inside the tube.
Then, use plastic putty knife to smooth out the filler and remove any extra you may have applied. Let this stand to dry for a minimum of 20 minutes.
Get a sanding block with very fine wet & dry paper for this step. Use it to sand down the dried filler with plenty of water. Continue your wet sanding until the final product is perfectly smooth and flush with the rest of the body of your vehicle. Dry the area, and inspect it for any imperfections left. If needed, apply more filler and re-sand.
