Most autos have the color code listed on the same tag as the VIN. This tag is typically on the driver’s side door jamb. If it's not visible there, check the passenger side. Some manufacturers will place the tag in the trunk of the vehicle (Audi/VW) or the glovebox (GM). Check out our How To Locate Your Paint Code information page which will help guide you to your code. Motorcycles usually don't have the color code listed. If you are uncertain of your color, a quick call to your local dealer's parts department can usually sort it out quickly. Be sure to have your VIN handy when placing your call. Pictured below are some examples of common manufacturer tags:
